First of all, I must repeat that I am not back, I just don't have anywhere else to put this. Second, Fandom's editor is complete garbage and I made a good decision bailing out on being here full time.

This list is adapted from an attempt at making sense of the phylogeny of most of the creatures featured in The Land Before Time series with a decidedly flawed character matrix; some of the classifications and placements of animals here here are so zany that they make parts of the Fantastic Edition look positively parsimonious, so be warned. I must also get the fact that this is by no means to be taken seriously out of the way before someone riots, please for the love of Littlefoot's mother don't treat this as scientifically accurate.

Anyway, on with the madness. From the top:

Non-dinosaurs

Turtles

Marine reptiles

Surprisingly, all reptiles that have an affinity for water - barring Archie - form a unified clade on the tree.

Mammals

Oddly enough, the closest group on the tree to the dinosaurs. A couple stabs at the tree have recovered them as primitive sauropods for some reason.

Dinosauria

Well, roughly; this isn't quite Dinosauria as most would recognize it.

Sauropoda

Sauropoda only narrowly escapes from exclusion from Dinosauria owing to Baron et al.'s redefinition of Dinosauria to include Diplodocus (before then, Dinosauria = the clade including the last common ancestor of Megalosaurus and Iguanodon). Of all of the dinosaur groups spat out by this tree, the sauropod group is effortlessly the least eyebrow-raising.

Brachiosauridae

Diplodocidae

Surprisingly, the rough Diplodocidae recovered by the tree has simple versions of Diplodocinae (Diplodocus + Supersaurus and Apatosaurinae (Apatosaurus + Tinysaurus).

"Parathyreophora"

Though this group does include proper thyreophorans, some of the more basal members of this group are decidedly off-kilter.

Thyreophora

This tree interprets Thyreophora as a ladder leading to a simple Ankylosauridae (Ankylosaurus + Rooter's species).

Ceratopsidae

Contains a whopping two actual ceratopsids.

Mutt

Awkwardly wedged between Ceratopsidae and Theropoda on the tree; brace yourselves, things are about to get wacky.

Theropoda

In the context of this tree, Theropoda is the largest group within Dinosauria, though this is in part because it is a much, much more inclusive group than it is in reality. It is split into two main groups, both of which have been given names of historic relevance: members of Coelurosauria tend to be relatively small and gracile, while members of Paracarnosauria tend to be large and robust. Both groups have several outliers, of course, and some of the relations recovered for these groups are, for the lack of a better word, insane. The last common ancestor of the two groups was likely similar to a Camptosaurus or very large Dryosaurus.

Coelurosauria

"Eucoelurosauria"

Coelurosaurs that are actually coelurosaurs, with some very, very big exceptions down the line. Feathers are a trait unique to Eucoelurosauria.

"Pseudoabelisauridae"

Of all of the coelurosaurs, these are the only terrestrial members of the group to fall under the sharptooth umbrella; certain members of this group have lost all their feathers and developed crocodilian osteoderms.

"Parapterosauria"

Nestled deep within Coelurosauria are birds and, of all things, pterosaurs - united by an ancestor with wings, a beak, a reduced tail, adaptations for aerial living and a long, delicate skull.

Eumaniraptora

Despite its lack of non-Microraptor dromaeosaurs, this small group is about as sane as Coelurosauria gets, in direct contrast to the fact that its sister group is made up of animals that straight up aren't dinosaurs.

Pterosauria

In the context of this tree, calling pterosaurs dinosaurs isn't actually inaccurate; in fact, they're extremely derived theropods, and the sister group to proper birds.

"Paracarnosauria"

Rest assured, "Paracarnosauria" is no less bonkers than Coelurosauria. The main trait that distinguishes paracarnosaurs and coelurosaurs is the presence of a dorsal ridge; while there are no coelurosaurs with proper ridges on their backs, there are far more paracarnosaurs with them than ones without, and a couple have full-on sails on their backs.

Clypeodonta

Defined as "Hypsilophodon foxii, Edmontosaurus regalis, their most recent common ancestor, and all of its descendants," Clypeodonta inexplicably sits at the base of Paracarnosauria.

Hadrosauriformes

The structure of Hadrosauridae had been shattered by this tree, if it wasn't already made clear by Maiasaura being a ceratopsid and the two bigmouths being closer to Hypsilophodon than anything else - even the tree's near-recovery of Lambeosaurinae, this very group, is thrown off by the mixing in of an indeterminate ornithopod (Edmontosaurus?) and Ouranosaurus!

Carnosauria

With two exceptions, one of which is positively mind-boggling, everything here is a theropod - few are actually carnosaurs in the real-world cladistic sense, but still.

"Nihilosauridae"

These three theropods are united by the fact that they have long skulls ; two of these taxa are united by being hard to classify, which isn't something in the character matrix. This group has been shifted in position constantly; some of the trees prior to this revision recovered them as everything from basal tyrannosaurs to basal general theropods)

Tyrannosauridae

With one small exception, tyrannosaurids are huge, imposing carnivores; the sharpteeth to end all sharpteeth.

"Alabrosauridae"

The sister group to Tyrannosauridae; the main trait that distinguishes this group from Tyrannosauridae is the fact that its members do not possess lips. More derived members of the group have keratinous beaks. Some trees recover the ornithomimids/"ornithomimines" as members of Coelurosauria, often as eumaniraptors that are close relatives ofIchthyornis.

This will be updated as more taxa are slowly added and more characters are added to the matrix. Keep an eye out for potential improvements and inevitable phylogenetic upsets.
