A Hydrotherosaurus appears in The Land Before Time IV: Journey through the Mists. Some LBT fans mistake to be an Elasmosaurus, because of his long neck. But closely resembles that of a Plesiosaurus, a smaller of cousin of the Elasmosaurus and Hydrotherosaurus.

History

He appeared after Dil flinged off Ichy away with her tail. Dil bumped into him and the Sharptooth was last seen chasing after her.

Trivia

  • The Hydrotherosaurus was the fourth swimming sharptooth to appear in The Land Before Time franchise, the first swimming sharptooth to appear in the franchise was a Nothosaurus, but this is disputed, because the Metriorhynchus could also classify, but is more related to belly-draggers. A pefect term for such a sharptooth would possibly "Long-necked Sharptooth".
  • He was maybe a Macroplata with a long neck because of his sharp teeth, but this hard to determine since the Plesiosaur reptiles in some media is portrayed as a meat-eater.
  • He closely bears resemblance the famous legendary Loch Ness Monster in Loch Ness, Scotland.
  • Most cryptozoologists are convinced that this Swimming Sharptooth is definitely a prehistoric Dinosaur: a Plesiosaurus, Cryptoclidus, Hydrotherosaurus, Elasmosaurus or according to cryptozoologist Roy P. Mackal the swimming Sharptooth is thought to be an surviving extinct whale called a Basilosaurus. So perhaps this Swimming sharptooth could definitely be Basilosaurus rather then a Hydrotherosaurus.
