- Image:Tinysauruses.png- While not as iconic as the last winner, I like the lighting of this scene, not to mention the wash of colors that the various Tinysaurs add. It also includes all five main characters. Aabicus 17:06, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Against: Invalid nomination. A Featured image cannot be derived from an online search, like this one was. I am sorry I did not provide the link to the site earlier. Will-Girl 19:36, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
- Ah. Understood. Aabicus 20:33, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
2. Image:Great Valley.jpg- How about this one? The category it's in says that it can be featured, and it's also an iconic shot, even including the Waterfall that seems to accompany any global shot of the Great Valley. Aabicus 20:39, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
For (though voting for both may be bad they are both good images.) This one shows the Great Valley from a higher level so one can see most of it, though not the fine details as one can closer up, and can see the waterfall and all the water the Great Valley is famous for, and how much green it has too. Mim 05:41, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
3. Image:Littlefoot.jpg - You know what? I feel like acutally having a vote this time. So I'm nominating two shots for Featured status. This shot is also iconic, showing the series' protagonist, and the background's mix of reds and browns, not to mention that fact that he's gnawing on a stick of wood, eccentuates the parched and foodless landscape Littlefoot is traveling through. Aabicus 20:44, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
For (though voting for both may be bad they are both good images.) This one shows one of the famous, or the most famous, characters in an image that shows the conditions of the mysterious beyond and why the dinos were heading to the Great Valley. Mim 05:41, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Image:Canyon of Shiny Stones 1.jpg
For August, 2008.
- For: 2
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: When I saw this image, I was breathtaken. It is so clear and perceptive, and visually-appealing. You can see the way the sunlight shines down into the little canyon, and how the crystals sparkle in the light. In fact, this one was so well-taken, I actually might have confused it for a real-life photograph if I didn't know the animation better. I think it would be shameful to leave this image as a regular image; I feel it deserves to be promoted to Featured Status. Will-Girl 20:15, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
I agree with the above points. It is a great image and one that isn't a regular image as is seen often in the various lbt movies and episodes. Mim 05:45, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- I like it. Very tropical, and good lighting. Also shows a location that some wiki visitors might not have heard of before, might serve to educate them more about obscure LBT topics. Aabicus 08:50, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

3. Image:Littlefoot.jpg - This shot (for some reason other than # of votes) lost to Image:Great Valley.jpg a few months ago. It's also iconic, showing the series' protagonist, and the background's mix of reds and browns, not to mention that fact that he's gnawing on a stick of wood, eccentuates the parched and foodless landscape Littlefoot is traveling through. Aabicus 01:56, 3 August 2008 (UTC)
For - Yes, this is an interesting image and one that shows the reasons for the various herds heading to the Great Valley. Things are so dry and green food so scarce some, like littlefoot, are left to have no food but sticks. I'd say one of the classic images & scenes from the first movie. Mim 06:31, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- Summary: Now I know what I was forgetting to do all this time! Vote for Featured Image! Oh well, as it's September, and the vote seems unanimous, I'll close this discussion with the result being "Promote to Featured Status". Will-Girl 00:38, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

- Neutral: 0
- Why: This image is of very good quality; a comfortable resolution, clear perceptiveness, and in the way it covers all of the surroundings in the view. It makes you feel like you're standing right there, in the meadow, looking at the view. Of course, it definately contributes significantly to the article it is used in, as it is an image of the subject; The Meadow of Jumping Water. As it is a designer image (and thus I added the category to the media page), and as I also added in a detailed rationale for the image, and due to its beautiful quality, it is ready for nomination. I really think it is one of the finest images in Land Before Time Wiki. Will-Girl 03:33, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Image:Land of Mists.jpg
- For: 1
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: Will's pic is a pretty good one, but it just didn't feel very grand, if you know what I mean. The shot in my opinion is rather two-dimensional, and the landscape doesn't hold 'personality,' if you know what I mean. This one, showing Ali & co.'s first glimpse of the Land of Mists, is just majestic; showing a beuatiful landscape that nevertheless gives off an aura of latent danger and misleading stillness. Just look at those pale green hills, filtered throughout with inpenetrable grey mist, leading all the way off to the far-distant mountains. This, combined with the ruby-clouded sky, the darkened lower-right hand forest trees, and the characters' extreme altitude at the edge of a water-and-rock precipice, highlight the characters' sense of being alone and very far from home, and that once they take another step, they can't ever turn back. Aabicus 04:08, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Summary:
Aabicus's point was very good, and so I decided to go with it. I have added a rationale to the image/media description page, and I will now promote it to Featured Status (after preseriving and archiving this discussion). Thank you. Will-Girl 01:12, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Well, we did mine last month, time for Will's picture to see the light. I quote her: "This image is of very good quality; a comfortable resolution, clear perceptiveness, and in the way it covers all of the surroundings in the view. It makes you feel like you're standing right there, in the meadow, looking at the view. Of course, it definately contributes significantly to the article it is used in, as it is an image of the subject; The Meadow of Jumping Water. I really think it is one of the finest images in Land Before Time Wiki." Indeed, looking at it a second time, I think I see more to it than I did first time around. -- Aabicus 22:59, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
I like how clear the picture is. It is sharp and and not fuzzy or in need of being cleaned. It also shows what one of the
locations talked about, and shown in one of the tv series episodes in full clear detail with nothing obscuring or blocking the view of the various areas in one's view. It also shows one reading the article what the area talked about really looks like, instead of them having to use just their imagination, & those who have seen the episode may be helped to remember better. Mim 15:13, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Summary: And once again, I've been so caught up with the articles that I forgot the images. Well, I see things are pretty unanimous, and if I had been here, they would have been further-unanimous. This image is to be on the front page. Here we go!!! Will-Girl 01:57, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Image:Great Valley 1-3.jpg
For December, 2008.
- For: 2
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: Another breathtaker, I thought. This image almost has too much depth to be two-dimensional. It is so bright and optimistic, yet sparkling and romantic at the same time. It looks sort of like there's a village down below, and it almost looks like there are little buildings here and there. Then, when you look closer, you see that they are trees. Then you see the vastness of the Valley, and the floating water-colour clouds up above. One of the two parts that harmoniously help to perfect an article are how accurately informative the article is, and how visually appealing it is. It is images like these that help articles to score both pointers. This is undoubtedly one of the best images in our little wiki database. Will-Girl 02:32, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- Must also mention: The image meets up with the criteria as well, as it was created by one of our editors, it is above 300 x 300 bytes, and it now has a detailed fair use rationale. Will-Girl 02:35, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- Why: It was a very difficult vote. I like both of the images chosen and voted on before, about equally. This one is among the first view one gets of the Great Valley, once the clouds part and the sun shines into the Great Valley so it has specialness to it, and is a good image, taking into account when it was made. The other one I like also and some may say it is a better image. But after looking at both images for quite a while I decided to vote on this one since, as I said, it is the first good view one gets of the Great Valley and after the events of the 1st movie it has a specialness to it. Not that the other image is not good, it is good too, so no vote against it since I like it also. But it was a very tough vote, the toughest vote I've made so far. Mim 11:16, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Image:Great Valley 2.jpg
For December, 2008.
- For: 1
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: I agree Will's is breathtaking, (so no vote against it), but I like the more 'pastel' feeling to this one. The mountians give the scene depth: the picture seems to come in layers, which is a pleasent experience on the eyes. And the dark atmosphere and jagged peaks around the Valley eccenuate the instability and danger of the Mysterious Beyond. The Valley itself, however, composed of greens and tans (not to mention the obligatory waterfall), gives off an aura of security, a safehouse amongst a world of stormy darkness. Aabicus 01:19, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- Comment: You don't appear to have stated anywhere that you think this is one of the finest images in Land Before Time Wiki, yet don't the rules say that you must do so? Will-Girl 01:57, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- Addendum: I think this is one of the finest images in Land Before Time Wiki. Aabicus 04:52, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- Reply: That's better. Thank you! Will-Girl 06:27, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
- Summary: It is December 1st, now, and therefore time to close this discussion. With two votes for Image:Great Valley 1-3.jpg, and one vote for Image:Great Valley 2.jpg, so it is fair to say that Great Valley 1-3 gets promoted this time around. That ends my closure of this discussion. Will-Girl 04:19, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Both Mim and myself mentioned a liking to this image, so I'm going to be like Ralph Nader and re-nominate it for this vote. While I certainly hope I won't have to do so four times, I think the image has enough merit to still be considered the best of the remaining designer images. Aabicus 23:37, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- For the halibut, I'm going to repost my rationale from last month: "I like the more 'pastel' feeling to this one. Aabicus 23:41, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
- Again, I slacked off of this discussion. Well, I agree, it does look to me to be one of the higher quality images in the category; smooth texture, excellent composition, eye-catching size, realistic view, warm glow brought on by the choice of colours; yes, it will do very nicely in the Featured Image category. - Why: This image is beautiful enough to make one cry, with the clear persception showing the bright sparkling texture of the water, and the lush green and light blue surrounding it, by means of the sky and the grass. There is also the dizzying twisted-side view of the scenery, making one feel like a plane swerving down and up, all the while seeing what is happening below. With the beauty and quality of this image, I believe it should be promoted to Featured Status; yes I think this is one of the finest images in the wiki. Will-Girl 02:08, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
- Woah, that is an awesome shot, almost fish-eyed. Strong Support. Aabicus 21:44, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Image:Sand Creeper Home.jpg
For March, 2009.
- For: 1
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: In the first place, this image meets all of the necessary criteria for a Featured Image. It was uploaded by its creator, and therefore is the Category:Designer Images; it is larger than 300 by 300 pixels (quite larger, in fact); it has a detailed fair-use rationale, and it is both useful and beautiful. It is currently used only in Sand Creepers, but is used there to illustrate an important point on those characters; their habitat. However, as the article "March of the Sand Creepers" gets expanded on, the image can also be used to tactfully illustrate the same point there. And then there is the beauty of the image, the clear, sharp colours, the superb composition, and the perspective and depth within it. It is all so well-crafted, and so well put-together, that I really believe this image qualifies as one of Land Before Time Wiki's finest images. Will-Girl 01:48, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Image:COMV.jpg
For April, 2009.
- For: 2
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: In the first place, this image meets the easy-to-meet FI criteria. It is larger than 300px x 300px, it has a detailed rationale for every article it serves a use in, it has a proper license, and it is a "Designer Image", as they are called. But it also meets the harder criteria; it is an amazing image to eye, in that it has realistic depth and lighting, the composition is clear, and the colours are rich, soft, and warm. Also, the distant view of the main characters entering the cavern is just enough to take away from the otherwise solitude portrayed in the image, and yet does not hog the view. Finally, the image is very important to the wiki, in that it adds significantly to both the article for the Cave of Many Voices, and the episode "The Cave of Many Voices". For all of these reasons, I think this is one of Land Before Time Wiki's finest images. Will-Girl 22:09, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
- For: I completely agree with all of your pointers, although I think the smallness of the characters from the picture's perspective is more of an eyesore than a compliment. But that's one small flaw against eight good features. Comparing this one to others in the category, I agree it's one of the nicest images Land Before Time Wiki has. Honoria 03:05, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- Comment: Thank you for your participation, Honoria. I want to make note of the new circumstances involving Featured Images here; this image is the last one to be promoted through this system. The result was Feature Image:Pliosaur 9.png on the main page in August 2009. Will-Girl 05:57, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Image:Pliosaur 9.png
For August, 2009.
- For: 1
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 1
- Why: I couldn't decide on which image to nominate, as there are so many wonderful Featured Images which have not yet had a turn on the Main Page, so I listed them all down on a sheet of paper. Then, using a nickel (and the "Heads or Tails" technique) I narrowed the options for my August 2009 nom down to just one. Image:Pliosaur 9.png was the one I ended up selecting. I'm afraid that's all my reasoning behind this nomination. Will-Girl 03:45, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Neutrality: I agree with you on that nothing appears to stand out that hasn't already been featured, and seeing as you've done the coin tossing for me I'll simply remain neutral on this. Jim 00:01, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- Summary: With July being over, so is this discussion. The results err on the side of unanimous, so this will be the FI of August, 2009. Will-Girl 05:55, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Image:Baby Chomper.jpg
For September, 2009.
- For: 3
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: I thought about it through July, and I decided that this Featured Image couldn't wait to appear on the Main Page a month longer; it's such an adorable selection amongst our finest, so this is the one I am nominating for September. Will-Girl 20:23, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
- Support: Because I was born in September. Good enough reason to have pictures of a birth? In my book, yes. Jim 21:56, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- Support: Nice image, and there is a feeling of nostalgia about it, like one usually feels in September. Honoria 00:51, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
- Summary: Now that it's September, it is finally time to close this discussion. Every participant agrees that this is the Featured Image we ought to display on the Main Page this month, so that is what we will do. Will-Girl 02:43, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

The result was Feature Image:Swimmer Trio.jpg on the main page in October 2009. Will-Girl 01:14, October 1, 2009 (UTC)
Image:Swimmer Trio.jpg
For October, 2009.
- For: 1
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: I had trouble deciding on which FI I would personally select, as has happened before. Once again, I used the aid of a coin to help me, and Image:Swimmer Trio.jpg turned out to be the last one standing. Therefore, it is the one that I nominate for October, 2009. Will-Girl 03:18, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Summary: Nobody but myself participated in this discussion, but no matter. Now that it is October 1st, this discussion must close, and since there was only one supporting vote, and not a single opposing vote, this image is still officially the one to look over all the other image in the wiki, for this month. Congrats to the image, I say! Will-Girl 01:13, October 1, 2009 (UTC)

The result was Feature Image:Apatasaurus Trio 2.jpg on the main page in November, 2009. Will-Girl 01:38, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
Image:Apatasaurus Trio 2.jpg
For November, 2009.
- For: 1
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: Once more, I yielded a need to resort to the ever-loyal coin, for flipping till I reached a decision. And this featured image was the outcome. So it's the one I'm nominating for November 2009, and I'm afraid that's all I have to say. Fortunately, unlike with the quantity of Featured Articles who have not yet had their turn on the Main Page, we still have a very substantial number of Featured Images left to go through. Will-Girl 01:50, October 1, 2009 (UTC)
- Summary: It is now November, and it is time to close this discussion. As only I gave my input on this discussion, it is once again a unanimous vote. Therefore, this is the image which readers will see reflecting our good work in this wiki, when they come to the opening page. Will-Girl 01:36, November 2, 2009 (UTC)

Image:Scuttle 2.jpg
For December, 2009.
- For: 1
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: Once again, I flipped a coin to help me make this decision, and this image proved to be the ultimate winner this time around. I'm afraid that is the only reason for my nominating this image. Will-Girl 07:36, November 2, 2009 (UTC)
- Summary: Once again the discussion ends with a single participant. Anyway, the good news is that means this image got in! Will-Girl 01:45, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

The result was Feature Image:Large Belly Dragger 3.jpg on the main page in January, 2010. Will-Girl 01:51, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
Image:Doc.jpg
For January, 2010.
- For: 1
- Against: 1
- Neutral: 0
- Why: Again, using the coin for making my decision. Funny thing though, this time the process ended up with the coin rejecting all of the Featured Images! So out of my own accord, I chose one of the finalists at random, and Image:Doc.jpg proved to be it. So that's my nomination for January 2010. Will-Girl 02:26, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
File:Large Belly Dragger 3.jpg
For January, 2010.
- For: 1
- Against: 1
- Neutral: 0
- Why: This is one of my favourites among the featured pictures, and I can't wait to see it get its turn. That is why I nominate this picture to appear on the main page. Honoria 01:48, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
Summary
It is now January 1st, 2010, and thus this discussion must close, in order for a new one to take place. With two votes, each opposing each other, I had to flip a coin to decide between them. It would seem that Large Belly Dragger 3.jpg will be the Featured Image of the Month, this time. Congrats! Will-Girl 01:49, January 1, 2010 (UTC)

- Why: Yet another random pick for a pic (get it?) on my part, but I really like this featured image, anyway. Will-Girl 01:33, February 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Summary: Gosh, if I'm going to get this done, I'd better get it done. The vote appears unanimous, so this'll pass on to be featured on the main page. Will-Girl 02:37, March 15, 2010 (UTC)

- Why: This image just reflects the springtime so perfectly, in my view, and as the month of April is in the heart of that season, I think this image is most appropriate. Therefore, I choose this image as my nomination for April, 2010. Will-Girl 02:59, March 15, 2010 (UTC)

File:Crunch 1.jpg
For May, 2010.
- For: 1
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: Basically a random pick on my part. I'm getting quite well known for these. But I think we need to watch out for lots of variety in what featured images we nominate to appear on the main page each month, to avoid any stalemates or trends. Will-Girl 03:27, April 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Support: I think it's a good choice. It would be wise to spice things up by alternating between iconic characters/locations and minors of these same things. Honoria 10:19, April 24, 2010 (UTC)
- Summary: It is now May 1st, 2010, and time to close this discussion. Now, let's get this image on the main page, as that seems to be what everyone wants! Will-Girl 02:28, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

File:Chomper - Tv.jpg
For June, 2010.
- For: 1
- Against: 0
- Neutral: 0
- Why: From what I've heard and seen from other users, this image seems to be one of the more popular images on the wiki, and it is also a featured image which has not yet had its turn on the main page. I think it's time we gave this one a go. Will-Girl 02:46, May 1, 2010 (UTC)
- Summary: June has arrived, and there was only one participant in this discussion, and the outcome was supportive of the proposal, thus I guess we will be giving this one a go. Will-Girl 19:12, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

- Summary: It's september now, and looking back on what I said above, I can hardly believe I don't smoke. Anyway, the only vote this month is for this image, so it is the one we will feature on the main page. Will-Girl 00:36, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

- Why: It is a very peaceful, calming picture. The twinkles of light and the small group of bubbles on the side add an extra feeling of life to it, while still keeping the peaceful feel of the scene. It has never appeared on the main page and would be a good contrast to the previous image (File:Skycolor stones.jpg) which is very lively and bright. --Frosted Apple 02:57, January 27, 2012 (UTC)

- Why: This is a really neat image, it shows how lush and green the Great Valley is. It contrasts well with the previous featured image, and for some reason I think it would look well alongside Littlefoot, whos article will appear on the main page this month. I feel bad for nominating this literally at the last second; I'll make sure to do it ahead of time in the future. -- Apple 06:10, March 1, 2012 (UTC)

- Why: Although this image has appeared on the main page before, it did quite a few years ago, which has happened with other featured images too. The image is crisp and clear, and gives a contrast to the previous featured image which occured in a cave setting.
