John Ingle (born May 7, 1928 - September 16, 2012) was the second voice for Daddy Topps, as well as the narrator for II-V and VIII-XIII.
Originally, John Ingle taught drama Hollywood High School (1955 - 1964) and Beverly Hills High School (1964-1984), but he soon retired from teaching in 1985 and launched an acting career. He has nine grandchildren.
Among the future stars, Ingle taught Meredith Baxter, Richard Dreyfuss, Albert Brooks, Julie Kavner, Laraine Newman, Mike Farrell, Linda Evans, Stefanie Powers, Swoosie Kurtz, Barbara Hershey, David Schwimmer and Nicolas Cage at Hollywood High School and Beverly Hills High School.
In 1993 he assumed the role of beloved patriarch Edward Quartermaine on the popular ABC soap opera General Hospital. He continued in this role until 2004 when he was dropped to recurring status and joined Days of our Lives as Mickey Horton. Mr. Ingle returned to his role as Edward Quartermaine on General Hospital in April 2006 where he remained until his death in 2012 at age 84.
