A remake of 'The Last Generation', born out of a strong hatred for how the original roleplay ended and how the story in general veered off into a Peenutverse entry tonally; as with the 2017 original, this is a story about the distant descendants of Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie and Spike being faced with a challenge slightly more intense than what their ancestors laid witness to: the K/Pg mass extinction that killed off the non-avian dinosaurs and several other groups (and no, no fakeout ending where everyone is inexplicably okay). Not set in the same universes as any of the other roleplays - just the world of The Land Before Time on the brink of - and later wracked by - disaster.
Anyway, getting the ball rolling:
It is the end of the Maastrichtian stage of the Late Cretaceous, just over 66 million years ago and long after the days of the Gang of Five. Though dinosaurs still continue to plod across the lands, ever-worsening conditions are very slowly beginning to take a toll on their survival. Not even the Great Valley has been spared; the area is now much drier, less floral, and, though still hospitable and free of carnivores, not nearly as friendly to its herbivorous inhabitants as it was in the days of Littlefoot and company.
In the once-Great Valley, there are five children playing: Louis the longneck (Apatosaurus), Harriet the threehorn (Triceratops), Ron the flier (Pteranodon), Liliana the swimmer (Saurolophus) and Kent III - call him Kent - the spikeback (Kentrosaurus - though Spike never bred, his adoptive family's lineage has a knack for taking in orphaned thyreophorans).
