Archaeornithomimus (meaning "ancient bird mimic") is a genus of ornithomimosaurian theropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous of China, 70 million years ago. It ranged from the late Campanian to the early Maastricthian stage, the fossils were discovered in the Iren Dabasu Formation. The fossils are made up of several disarticulated individuals, though material of the skull and lower jaw is lacking.

Archaeornithomimus asiaticus was about 3.3 meters (11 ft) long, and weighed up to 50 kilograms (110 lb). The hindlimbs were robustly built; this was an unusual in comparison to other Ornithomimids. Like other members of the ornithomimids, Archaeornithomimus was perhaps an omnivore, eating everything from small mammals, to plants and fruit, to eggs, and even hatchlings of other Asian dinosaurs.

In The Land Before Time

Archaeornithomimus appears as an enemy in The Land Before Time for the Game Boy Advance. It is the first enemy encountered in the first area of the game, Dusty Desert. It will walk around until it spots the player, where it will then try to jump into the player. They can be simply defeated by jumping onto their backs. The player gains 200 points for defeating one.
